Rádio Quintanares is a cultural project developed in partnership with the Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana (CCMQ), an institution linked to the State Secretariat of Culture of Rio Grande do Sul.
Broadcast via the internet, Rádio Quintanares programming aims to expand access to culture and promote cultural accessibility for people with disabilities, as well as to give visibility and voice to the social issues of women, the Black population, Indigenous peoples, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Aired in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, its programming is guided by the principles of art, citizenship, and culture, bringing together content such as music, theater, dance, literature, visual arts, cinema, and human rights. The station features interviews, debates, lectures, musical concerts, readings of literary works, poetry recitals, and radio dramas, with special attention to themes of cultural accessibility and social inclusion.
On air since May 20, 2021, Rádio Quintanares is under the Artistic and Editorial Direction of its creator, Dirney Silver — cultural producer, journalist, public manager, musician, and poet, a public servant in the field of culture in RS and a person with visual impairment.
The production of the programming relies on the collaboration of presenters and cultural support initiatives.
In addition to the Rádio Quintanares website — www.radioquintanares.art.br — the programming can also be followed on the 4th floor of the CCMQ, at the Natho Henn Public Discotheque.
